In Week 4 we are continuing to look at our Pacific neighbours and if any parents can share their experiences or culture please let us know. We would love to share them with you, just let me know if I can help.
The class are now settled into school routines and my initial assessments for grouping are nearly completed. By now the children should be bringing their book bags home each night to read or share some work with you and targetted reading books will be in them.Poems are still used in the weekends, however rereading older work to reinforce just how much your child has learnt also helps to keep them motivated. Sign or write praise too they proudly show me the next day when you do it gives them a real buzz!
Some children are still not taking their bookbags home?? and a few parents or guardians haven't signed their log books to let me know if they have got home. That could be a miscommunication but by week 4 it's really helpful for me if they know that you will be asking for it.
Thankyou so much for the parents who have offered to help on the Steak sandwiches stall too, if there is anyone else who could give an hour on the night(Thursday 6th March) just send a note if you can't come in personally and I'll pass on your details.
Swimming is also on in a few weeks thankyou for the parents help so far, I will contact you with final details soon. I am blessed by such a spirited class and supportive parents. It really does make the difference.
Well week 4 beckons catch up with you all soon ...and keep an eye on the blog for our latest photos.
Nadine McLaughlin.
